"Little Boxes On The Hillside, Little Boxes..."

Hey hey hey cats 'n kittens, as promised, here is the finished box I made using a Yorkshire Tea box. I haven't managed to do the inside yet as I don't feel there is any rush because to be honest with you I have no idea what I want to use the box for yet! I will have to keep it on my crafting table though as I am well happy with the finished product, for a first effort at distressing I think I have done a passable job.
I used some really, really old paper from my stash which if someone held a gun to my head I would probably say was a K and Co. paper. The stamps on the back of the box were free with a Do-Crafts magazine and the rub-on's are my old favourites Basic Grey. I have used a couple of the hinge die from Tim Holtz's Sizzix range and the buttons came free in a magazine last month (as did the Washi tape which is used to neaten the edges of the box), while the cameo arrived in the post a couple of days ago from Create and Craft, the final thing I used was the Walnut Stain Distress ink pad. If I have missed anything then I can only apologise.
Hope you like it and thank you to Clare from Horncastle (Distressed Miss) for the inspiration on her wonderful blog. I may not comment on everyone's blogs but rest assured I visit you all quite often to see what you have been up to. Big shout outs go to Eileen, Annie-Bee, Carla S, Crafty Kendalian and my sister for the wonderful comments you leave me on such a regular basis, I always get excited when I see you have written something so please keep it up.
I have had to take a sleeping pill tonight as I just knew I would never be able to sleep when I received an e-mail today telling me my e-bosser is on it's way, Yipeeee.
Anyhoo, hope you like the project and I will be back again soon with some more new cards too.
Take Care,
Hugs 'n Stuff,
Andy

  1. Love your box Andy and it is certainly more than "passable"!!! Maybe you could store some crafty items in it and then you'd be seeing it every time you craft - just an idea.

  6. WOWWWWWWWWWWW Mr.... this is STUNNING WORK !!! Amazing what you can do with an empty box. Love just about everything about it.... hehe... you can guess what the one small detail is :)
For your first attempt you have excelled yourself.
Really smiling about the ebosser... I got mine as soon as they appeared and love it. Just be careful about the sandwiches you use I managed to get something stuck in mine and it took ages to force it out, it's supposed to instantly go into reverse but it didn't, I ended up standing it on the edge of the plate and forcing it and it finally reversed.
Looking forward to your next creation

  8. What a fabulous box, Andy. You did a terrific job on the distressing. That is what I have to work on as I tend to me light-handed when doing it. Yours is just perfect. Such a cute Tilda--beautifully coloured. Wonderful DP's--the patterns are perfect for the vintage look. Love your box.
Thanks for coming over to play with us at Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps Challenge.
